David Q. Bell

Dr. Bell is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Arizona School of Medicine, and Core Residency Faculty in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Maricopa Medical Center. He completed his Residency in Maricopa Emergency Medicine Residency in Phoenix, AZ, and received his M.D. from the University of Illinois, Chicago, IL. Dr. Bell also holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, IL, an M.A. in Philosophy from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, IL, and a B.S. in English Literature and Biology from Wheaton College, Wheaton IL.

Dr. Bell has held several academic appointments, including Course Instructor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Teaching Assistant in the College of Medicine and Department of Philosophy at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, as well as the Department of Philosophy at Northern Illinois University. He has also been appointed to several hospitals, including Flagstaff Medical Center and Maricopa Integrated Health Services in Phoenix, AZ, and Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, also in Phoenix, AZ.

Dr. Bell is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and holds an active Arizona Medical License. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP) and is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), the Emergency Medicine Resident Association (EMRA), the American Medical Association, and the Illinois State Medical Society.

Dr. Bell has received numerous honors and awards for his teaching and research, including the Residency Faculty award for Excellence in Teaching of Emergency Medicine at Maricopa Emergency Medicine Residency, the National Emergency Medicine CPC Semi-Final Competition Faculty Discussant Runner Up, and the Graduate, EMF/ACEP Teaching Fellowship Program. He has also served on several committees, including the Hospital-Wide Behavioral Peer Review Committee, the District Medical Group Pension Committee Meeting, and the Ethics Committee at Maricopa Medical Center.
